The Secret History of Kubrick, the Blog Theme That Changed the Internet

I remembered the first time I’m installing WordPress and struck in awe looking at the striking simplicity of Kubrick, the default theme. Even more so when I’m slowly digging into its details. “Woah, the header gradients can be changed! How does that happen?” “What a sweet rounded corner, what’s the CSS trick?”

Kubrick will be replaced by something else called 2010 as a default theme, and to commemorate here’s a HuffPo post on its history.

A piece of history, indeed.
